Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for the position of a Girls Peer Home Supervisor for the Prince Albert Girls Peer Home.


General Duties:

The Girls Peer Home Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff and providing evaluations of each subordinate staff member as per policy; Performing administrative duties related to personnel issues, resident care documentation and the safety and maintenance of the facility; Preparing shift schedules for all staff
  • Handling critical incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring children understand the value of the program in which they are placed.
  • Actively participating with the children in programs whenever possible, ensuring all staff are doing the same.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the programs for children and suggest changes where necessary.
  • Monitoring activities and providing feedback through reports, both verbal and written, and keeping daily logs.
  • Implementing and maintaining consistent routines in the facilities allowing children the opportunity to feel safe and know what to expect.


  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to support, train and manage staff
  • Willingness to participate in training
  • Knowledge of the Woodland Cree culture & language and the political and social objectives of First Nations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a community-based organization
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Valid Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Demonstrated healthy lifestyle through role modeling
  • Willingness to work after hours when required
  • Preference will be given to persons of First Nations Ancestry
  • *Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
