PBCFSI Culture Center 1 Casual Culture Center Worker

Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for one (1) Casual Culture Center Worker for the PBCFSI Cultural Center. The casual worker will report to the Culture Center Coordinator. The Cultural Center is located 240 kms North East of Prince Albert, SK on Highway 106, Hanson Lake Road. Located in between Bloomfield’s and Deschambault Lake Resort.

 The Casual Worker(s) will be responsible for:

1. Covering absent full-time Culture Center staff
2. Maintaining and cleaning the buildings to ensure the facilities are accessible and are safe and effective.
3. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all duties related to house keeping (Camp laundry, wash dishes, clean cabins daily)
4. Assist with meal preparation and dining room set up; serve and clean up after meals
5. Ensuring clients understand the value of the program in which they are placed
6. Actively participating with the programs whenever possible
7. Implementing and maintaining consistent routines in the facilities
8. Ensuring a high standard of care of all children, youth and families is maintained in all facilities
9. Ensuring the facilities are decorated in keeping with the cultural and social interest of the residents
10. Ability to handle the solitude of living in a remote location.

Qualifications

1. Grade 12.
2. Maturity, responsible, trustworthy and stability.
3. Leads a healthy lifestyle.
4. Interpersonal skills ability to work with people.
5. Willingness to participate in on-going training.
6. Verbal and written skills able to communicate.
7. Knowledge of Woodland Cree language, culture and the political and social objectives of PBCN First Nation.
8. Persons of First Nation’s Ancestry are encouraged to apply.
9. Must Have Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
10. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
