Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for One (1) Full Time Post Majority Worker for the PBCFSI office in Deschambault Lake. Post-majority support services assist PBCN youth aging out of care and young adults formerly in care from the age of majority up to and including the age of 25. Post-majority support services is an immediate measure which will support the development toward a fully reformed program.

General Duties:

Providing a continuum of quality support that puts the needs of PBCN First Nations youth aging out of care and young adults formerly in care at the center by providing services that are more accessible and timely including comprehensive case management to client files and case plans along with the coordination, planning and continuum of community information events and sessions on services provided.

  • Providing support services that aim to support the safety and well-being of PBCN youth and young adults in a way that is culturally appropriate, in their self-identified best interest and provided on the basis of substantive equality.
  • Providing Supports that include help with: housing, food, employment and financial security; mental health, wellness, and addiction supports, healthy relationships.
  • Ensuring that culturally-based safety and wellbeing of PBCN First Nations youth aging out of care and young adults formerly in care is paramount.
  • Maintain case management of all post majority clients as assigned
  • Organizing and coordinating PBCFSI Post Majority community information
  • Develop case plans working toward independence


  • Completed a Certificate, Diploma and or Degree in Social Work and three years of related child and family services agency experience
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal and personal management skills, as well as problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must lead a mature, stable and healthy lifestyle.
  • Commitment to working with families.
  • Willingness to participate in on-going training as well as travel to all PBCN communities
  • Knowledge of Woodland Cree language, culture and the political and social objectives of PBCN
  • Persons of First Nation’s Ancestry are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
