PBCFSI Culture Center 1 Casual Culture Center Caretaker

Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for one (1) Casual Culture Center Caretaker for the PBCFSI Cultural Center. The Cultural Center is located 240 kms North East of Prince Albert, SK on Highway 106, Hanson Lake Road. Located in between Bloomfield’s and Deschambault Lake Resort.

 The Casual Worker(s) will be responsible for:

1. Maintaining and cleaning the buildings to ensure the facilities are accessible and are safe and effective.
2. Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on buildings, facilities and vehicles.
3. Maintaining inventory control over equipment and supplies, restock supplies when applicable
4. Ensuring security of the premises including buildings and land.
5. Ability to recognize, value, and deliver excellent client services.
6. Janitorial duties for building and yard.
7. Work independently and with a team.
8. Ability to handle the solitude of living in a remote location.
9. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all duties related to housekeeping (Camp laundry, wash dishes, clean cabins daily).
10. Assist with meal preparation and dining room set up; Serve and clean up after meals.
11. Answer phone.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Grade 12.
2. Maturity, responsible, trustworthy and stability. Leads a healthy lifestyle.
3. Interpersonal skills ability to work with people.
4. Willingness to participate in on-going training.
5. Verbal and written skills, able to communicate effectively.
6. Knowledge of Woodland Cree language, culture and the political and social objectives of PBCN First Nation.
7. Persons of First Nation’s Ancestry are encouraged to apply.
8. Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
9. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
